STATELINE, Nev. – A man visiting from Pomona, California fell to his death at Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino on Saturday afternoon. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) responded to the Stateline casino at 2:46 p.m. on February 8 after they were notified of a person who had fallen to their death near the valet entrance.
According to DCSO, they had fallen from the roof (above the 19th floor).
The deceased is being identified as a 31-year-old man who had arrived in South Lake Tahoe on an Amtrak bus from Los Angeles the same day as his death. He suffered fatal injuries as a result of the fall and was pronounced deceased at 2:50 p.m.
DCSO Sheriff Dan Coverley said, “We are confident this was a suicide.”
