SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The man who lost his life in an avalanche near Powderhouse Peak on Monday has been identified by family as Frederic Dross. He, his family, and two children lived in Meyers and the daughters attend Meyers Elementary.

Frederic was someone who lived life to the fullest as a loving father and husband, going on all the adventures life had to offer.

Frederic lived life to the fullest by traveling the world, and going on ski, bike, surf, and scuba diving adventures – he was always curious to explore more of life. He loved to try all the foods, and also to cook and bake.

“He approached everything in life with kindness, humor and passion,” said the GoFundMe page.

Frederi leaves behind his wife Liesbeth and daughters Emma and Marie. The partnership that he and his wife Liesbeth had was one of profound love and kindness. The father he was to Emma and Marie is one of gentleness and patience.

“His wife and daughter will need help from our community,” states his GoFundMe. “Frederic was the main provider to his family. We want to make sure that we honor his memory by taking care of his wife and children.”

Friends have started two GoFundMe fundraisers for the family, one by local friends and the other by associates in the solar industry which he was part of. Fred dedicated his life to advancing the solar industry with successful huge contributions at IMEC, Hanwha, PVEL / DNV, DSM, STS, and most recently Swift Solar.
