SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – With the latest in a series of storms leaving the region, roads are being cleared with many chain controls removed. The forecast is sunny to partly cloudy through Monday, though Friday’s high is expected to be 31 with a low of 11, so there is a chance of icy roads. Use caution.

As of 2:15 p.m. Friday, there are no chain requirements on US50 or I80, but some controls do remain:

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from Picketts Jct (Alpine Co) to 2.7 mi south of the Jct of US 50 (El Dorado Co) /Luther Pass/

Is closed at Emerald Bay State Park (El Dorado Co) – Due to snow – Motorists are advised to use an alternate route

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from Bliss State Park (El Dorado Co) to Olympic Valley (Placer Co)

SR88

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from 9 mi east of Pine Grove to Kirkwood (Amador Co)

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from 3.5 mi east of Tahoe City (Placer Co) to the Nevada State Line
