SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Isaiah and Cortney Day recently opened an in-home daycare and preschool in South Lake Tahoe. The high school sweethearts have been married for 27 years and moved to South Lake Tahoe in 2023 to follow their “dream to be a light, a safe place, and where children can come to play, learn, and be loved!”
They both retired from their previous careers in Southern Idaho, Isaiah in law enforcement and Cortney in education.
When their own three sons were young they owned and operated a small in-home day care in their Idaho home for five years before Cortney returned to college to earn a teaching degree.
Cortney is a certified teacher and has a BA in elementary education. Primarily a 3rd- 4th grade elementary teacher for the last 10 years, but 15+ years in education. Isaiah was in law enforcement for 15 years and left as a patrol sergeant. He coached all three sons in sports, served as president and vice president of the baseball/softball league. Prior to having children, he was a college athlete and coached legion baseball. Their sons are now 17, 19, and 22.
Now they’ve opened their home once again to young children, currently accepting 0-8 years old. If you are looking for immediate availability or just browsing, they’d love to visit with you at TLA Daycare and Preschool.

“We are so excited to be serving the South Lake Tahoe community,” the couple said.
