This winter, every K-5 student at Sierra House Elementary had the amazing opportunity to ski or snowboard for 2-3 days, thanks to the generosity of the Vail Epic Promise Grant and Heavenly Ski Resort. The Epic Promise Grant provided every student with lessons, lift tickets, and equipment rentals.  The Heavenly Resort team,  coordinated by Matthew Morse and Ingrid Heinig, provided amazing instruction ensuring that all students, including those with special needs, could fully participate in this unforgettable adventure.

With the stunning Sierra Nevada mountains as their classroom, students experienced the beauty and excitement of skiing or snowboarding firsthand. The Heavenly coaches and staff created a safe, supportive, and fun environment, helping students gain confidence, learn new skills, and develop a deeper connection to their natural surroundings. The excitement was contagious as students developed their skills, cheered each other on as they embraced new challenges.

A special thank you to our LTUSD Transportation Department for ensuring that our students arrived safely to and from Heavenly each day. Their flexibility and dedication to our students made this opportunity a reality.

Sierra House Elementary School is incredibly grateful to Vail Epic Promise Grant, and the Heavenly Ski Resort team for their generosity and commitment to our students. This experience created lasting memories and instilled a lifelong appreciation for this beautiful place that we call home!
