SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The City of South Lake Tahoe is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Community Academy, a unique opportunity for residents to learn about the inner workings of their local government. The academy aims to foster a deeper understanding of municipal operations and encourage civic engagement among community members.
The Community Academy will cover a wide range of topics, including city planning, public safety, budgeting, and community services. Participants will have the chance to interact with city officials, tour municipal facilities, and gain insights into the decision-making processes that shape South Lake Tahoe. Academy sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings and some Saturday afternoons between April 16 and May 28.
“We are thrilled to bring back our Community Academy,” said City Manager Joe Irvin. “This program not only offers our residents the opportunity to engage with their local government but strives to build a stronger connection with the community.”
Applications for the 2025 Community Academy will be accepted until March 26th. The academy is open to anyone age 16 or older who resides, attends school, or works in the city.
