CARSON CITY, Nev. – A Douglas County woman has been arrested on suspicion of abusing a resident of a Carson City memory care facility. On March 8, 2025, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to the memory care facility, where they saw surveillance video footage of a professional caretakers physically battering a resident of the facility on two occasions.
The victim is eighty-three years old.
Detectives contacted the executive director of the memory care
facility and learned the suspect, Kristi Haworth, was placed on administrative leave and ultimately terminated from her employment. Haworth was contacted by detectives but declined to be interviewed.
Carson City Sheriff’s Office Detectives, along with the Nevada Department of Public Safety: TRINET Narcotics Task Force and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Haworth that resulted in a probable cause arrest in Minden, Nev, on March 14.
Haworth was arrested and charged with abuse of an elderly person, criminal neglect of a patient, and battery. Her bail was set at $5,000.
