SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The next meeting of the South Lake Tahoe City Council is Tuesday, March 24, starting at 5:30 p.m. For the complete agenda and instructions on viewing and participating, visit https://www.cityofslt.gov/84/Watch-City-CouncilCommission-Meetings.
On the agenda:
Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Mid-Year Budget review with amendments to the allocated
permanent position listing, and five-year financial plan updates.
Continued discussion of the Comprehensive User Fee study report and direction on policy for cost recovery.
Possible re-use of the soon-to-be-closed Recreation and Swim Complex. Council will discuss potential re-use and creation of an ad-hoc committee to discuss this possibility with El Dorado County. The 56 Acres Agreement with El Dorado County
requires demolition of the Recreation and Swim Complex by 2037; however, there are other challenges with continuing to keep the facility open and in operation, including $775,000 per year to keep it open and in operation.
Resolution reaffirming the City’s commitment to the rights, dignity, and safety of all residents, regardless of immigration status, and opposing unconstitutional Federal enforcement actions and overreach.
The South Lake Tahoe Recreation Facilities Joint Powers Authority (JPA) consists of the City of South Lake Tahoe (City), El Dorado County (County), and Tahoe Paradise Resort Improvement District (TPRID). The JPA is in the process of creating a June 2026 ballot measure known as Measure G to extend the collection of JPA Special Taxes by a period of 30 years, beginning with the 2030-2031 fiscal year and continuing through the 2059-2060 fiscal year. Council will discuss and possibly vote on an amendment to modify that JPA agreement.
