On March 12, 2026, the Republican Women of California – South Lake Tahoe (RWC-SLT) held its annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner with Congressman Kevin Kiley as the guest speaker. Senator Maria Alvarado Gil also spoke. Approximately 60 members and guests were present.
Representative Kiley has been a leading advocate for protecting Lake Tahoe, helping advance the Lake Tahoe Restoration Reauthorization Act to secure hundreds of millions of dollars to improve water quality, restore forests, combat invasive species, and reduce wildfire threats.
He secured $1.2 million for the South Lake Tahoe Public Utility District to replace deteriorating water main lines and install new fire hydrants, as well as $1 million for North Tahoe PUD to upgrade water lines.
In addition, Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-CA) has focused on securing over $300 million in federal funding to strengthen infrastructure, expand water resources, reduce wildfire risk, and improve public safety across his district—delivering meaningful outcomes for the communities he represents.
Currently, he is working on legislation to prevent retroactive wealth taxes and combat illegal biolabs, as well as introducing legislation aimed at curbing excessive state gas taxes, including California’s, which is the highest in the nation at nearly 71 cents per gallon. He continues to champion commonsense reforms.
During his presentation, which he made without written notes, he received several standing ovations for his courage and advocacy for all people in his District.
RWC-SLT meets most months on the second Thursday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The objectives of this organization are to support political education and activity and promote the principles and policies of the Republican Party. RWC-SLT also helps elect Republican candidates.
