EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) will host a Citizens’ Academy in South Lake Tahoe beginning May 27. This is a free training program designed to familiarize participants with the many aspects of law enforcement and the role the Sheriff’s Office plays in the community. The program will be held weekly, meeting every Tuesday from May 27 to June 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Each week will feature a different instructor to discuss a variety of law enforcement topics and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the various EDSO units, equipment, and facilities. Another bonus of this program includes the opportunity to take a ride-along with an EDSO Deputy.
Space is limited, so it’s important to register as soon as possible. Due to adult themes and content, the academy is only for ages 18 and older. There are exceptions to this, so please call or email for further information. This is a MUST for every citizen of El Dorado County.
The class fills up fast, so enroll today by filling out the application below and submitting it to the front desk at the EDSO South Lake Tahoe Station or emailing it to recordspv@edso.org. If you have questions about participation, please contact the program coordinator: Detective Cortez (530) 621-5992. cortezn@edso.org
