LAKE TAHOE, Nev. – Justin Hayward is the voice of the Moody Blues, and he brought the “Story in Your Eyes” tour to the stage at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, South Shore Room on Friday, April 4. When he and his band arrived on the stage, they were greeted with a standing ovation from the audience.

Justin brought with him an incredible acoustic band, which helped everyone revisit the music from the Moody Blues. Most of the people in the audience that evening grew up listening to the Moody Blues from 1966 until 1978. The intimacy of the South Shore Room was the perfect venue for this experience, as the sound was amazing and the simple backdrop behind the band was reminiscent of past
album covers of the Moody Blues.

His band members were:

  • Karmen Gould on flute, she played a magical flute and almost stole the show.
  • Julie Ragins was on keyboard and did a lot of harmonies with Justin’s incredibly strong vocals, and together they reminded everyone of all the beloved original Moody Blues songs.
  • Julie’s keyboard playing created the backdrop for so many of Hayward’s songs, along with Josh Johnson and Billy Adamson on Guitars.

This musical adventure was like walking into a time capsule, as I hadn’t heard these songs in many years. All of the songs they played were classic Moody Blues tunes, such as Your Wildest Dreams, The Voice, I Know You’re Out There Somewhere, Questions of Balance, and he finished up the show with Tuesday Afternoon and Nights in White Satin.

Justin was very interesting during this performance as he told many stories about what gave him the visions to write certain songs, and he even had a question-and-answer period. This made the show very unique, intimate, and extremely timeless.
At the end of the performance, they featured a unique medley of his greatest hits! Almost a sing-along, because everyone knew the words!

Thank you, Justin Hayward for coming to Lake Tahoe and keeping your music alive
Thank you to Harrah’s Lake Tahoe South Shore Room for bringing the music here!
