SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Lake Tahoe Historical Society (LTHS) is hosting a two-part history talk about schools on the South Shore, from 1881 to the present. Before there was the Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD), there was the one-room Lake Valley schoolhouse, and students even took the train to school.

Retired LTUSD teacher Larry Lambin and current museum volunteer will present his research on the school history with photos.

Part I: 1881 to 1951 is on Tuesday, April 28, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (This is also the LTHS annual Spring Membership with selection of the nominating committee)
Part II: 1952 to Present is on Tuesday, May 19, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Both will be held at the South Tahoe Association of Realtors’ office. 2307 James Avenue, South Lake Tahoe. If you have photos or memorabilia from your school days in South Lake Tahoe, please share them at this gathering.

Talks are free, but donations are appreciated. Refreshments will be served.
