SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Mark your calendars and celebrate Earth Day on April 24 from 8 a.m. to noon at Stateline with a rewarding community cleanup. Originally slated for April 22, the event was moved due to the weather forecast.
Warming spring weather can expose trash left behind as winter snow melts, leaving South Lake Tahoe littered. This debris is an eyesore and can harm not only wildlife but also the clarity of Lake Tahoe. To protect the environment and our beautiful community, the Keep Tahoe Blue is hosting the 11th annual Earth Day Cleanup. Meet us in front of Azul Latin Kitchen, at the corner of Lake Tahoe Blvd and Heavenly Village Way, on April 24.
Parking: Free valet parking for volunteers at the Marriott Grand Residence (1001 Heavenly Village Way, South Lake Tahoe).
Be sure to bring:
- Full reusable water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Cleanup gloves (if you have them)
- Wear layers to protect from the cold and sun: hat, sunglasses, warm clothing and winter shoes
- Any snacks you would like
- Money, if you would like to purchase additional food and drink during lunch
They will provide:
- Cleanup materials (gloves, bags, etc.)
- Gloves/hand sanitizer
- Cool giveaways from Keep Tahoe Blue and our partners
- Snacks, coffee and water during the cleanup
- Light lunch for volunteers
