SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) held a promotion ceremony on April 29 to celebrate the promotion of two of their staff.

Traci Trapani was promoted from officer to sergeant. She has been in law enforcement for 19 years, starting with the Sacramento Police Department in 2005. In Sacramento, she served on patrol, as a full-time bike team member, full-time marine unit, honor guard, and public information officer. Sgt. Trapani has been with SLTPD for seven years where she has been on patrol, field training officer, range instructor, peer support team, SWAT, and OIC.

Doug Sentell was promoted from sergeant to lieutenant. He has been in law enforcement for 21 years, starting in 2003 with the Clear Lake Police Department. He came to SLTPD in 2005. Lt. Sentell has been on patrol, as a defensive tactics instructor, spent seven years in detectives, and has been a sergeant since 2017. In that position, Sentell has handled the Office of Traffic Safety grants and has been the defensive tactics sergeant.
