SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A GoFundMe fundraiser is underway to help Lake Valley Firefighter Paramedic, Neil Schnaible. The long-time member of the community suffered a massive heart attack while doing the job he loves.

His fellow firefighters acted immediately, performing CPR and successfully restoring a pulse. During the incident, Neil fell and struck his head on the pavement, causing multiple severe brain bleeds. He is now fighting for his life at Renown Regional Medical Center.

The Lake Valley Firefighters Union is helping to offset the immediate needs of Neil’s family with the fundraiser.

At the time of this emergency, Neil’s wife and daughter were in Greece, attending a wellness retreat. The union stated their immediate goal is to bring them home as quickly as possible so they can be by Neil’s side during this critical time.

“Neil has spent his life showing up for others in their moments of need. Now it’s our turn to show up for him and his family,” stated the GoFundMe, which is trying to raise $45,000.

All donations will go toward emergency travel expenses to reunite his family, with additional support helping them navigate the difficult days ahead.

Please consider donating, sharing, and keeping Neil and his family in your thoughts.
