SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – It is time once again for Clean Tahoe’s long-standing tradition of what is affectionately called “$5 Dump Day” in South Lake Tahoe. Now it’s known as Community Clean Up Day, but the event is the same – dispose of your unwanted items for a huge discount.
On Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the public is invited to bring loads to the South Tahoe Refuse Transfer Station at 2140 Ruth Avenue. California residents pay $5 for a vehicle load, and Nevada residents pay $10. It is also $10 for a truck and trailer full.
The Clean Tahoe program will stop by the homes of senior citizens and those who are disabled and transport their curbside pickup load for the same cost.
Some items are free due to grants received: Mattresses and box springs, computer monitors and televisions, refrigerators, and document shredding. Tires are $5 a load.
$5 Dump Day is for residential loads only, and commercial loads pay their normal prices.
