SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The City of South Lake Tahoe announced the issuance of a proclamation recognizing National Small Business Week, which takes place from May 4-10, 2025. This proclamation underscores the city’s commitment to supporting and celebrating the vital contributions of small businesses to our local economy and community. 

Mayor Tamara Wallace expressed the city’s appreciation for small businesses, stating, “Small businesses are the backbone of our community, driving innovation, creating jobs, and fostering a sense of local pride. We are thrilled to honor their resilience and dedication during Small Business Week.” 

The proclamation was presented by the Mayor to the South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and the Tahoe Chamber.  

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is celebrating National Small Business Week by hosting several events across the country. You can find information about events at www.sba.gov/events.

Whereas, National Small Business Week, a celebration championed by the U.S. Small 

Business Administration, honors the pivotal role small businesses play in shaping vibrant 

communities and fueling economic growth; and

Whereas, small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, providing essential goods, services, and employment opportunities to our residents and visitors; and

Whereas, small businesses contribute significantly to the unique character and charm of our community, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth; and

Whereas, the City of South Lake Tahoe recognizes the importance of supporting and celebrating the achievements and contributions of small businesses; and

Whereas, Small Business Week is an opportunity to honor the hard work, dedication, and resilience of small business owners and their employees.
Now, therefore, the City of South Lake Tahoe City Council do hereby proclaim May 4-10, 2025, as “Small Business Week” and encourages all residents to join in celebrating and supporting our local small businesses.
