NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – At a public hearing in Kings Beach Tuesday, May 12, the Placer County Board of Supervisors will take up — and potentially resolve — the biggest development issue in the Lake Tahoe area.
Alterra Mountain Company is seeking approval for a scaled-back proposal for its Palisades Tahoe resort. The revised project is the result of an historic collaborative agreement reached with Keep Tahoe Blue and Sierra Watch. Tomorrow’s meeting could end fifteen years of fighting over the future of Olympic Valley.
In April, the Placer County Planning Commission gave its approval to the downsized project.
The meeting starts at 9 a.m. It will be held in the North Tahoe Event Center, 8318 North Lake Blvd, Kings Beach, Calif. This portion is set to start no earlier than 10 a.m.
The first agenda item is a resolution honoring the lives lost in the Castle Peak avalanche and recognizing and honoring the Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue Team for their exceptional service, bravery, and compassion during the response.
