SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club is hosting its annual Kids’ Fishing Derby at Sawmill Pond on Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The derby is for all kids, ages 14 and younger. You’re never too young to start your own fish story!
Fishing tackle and bait will be available for those without their own. There will also be a free fish cleaning station. The Optimists will be providing free hot dogs and other snacks donated by Raley’s, and the Junior Optimist Club from South Tahoe High will be there helping out.
Sawmill Pond is located on the corner of Lake Tahoe Blvd. and Sawmill Road in South Lake Tahoe.
