SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Tom Millham, commander of American Legion Post 795, led volunteers at Happy Homestead Cemetery on Friday as they placed over 700 flags at the gravesites of fallen service members ahead of Memorial Day.
The American Legion is hosting a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Happy Homestead Cemetery, located at 1261 Johnson Blvd in South Lake Tahoe. The ceremony serves as a time for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance as the community comes together to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to gather at American Legion Post 795, located at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd, for light refreshments and fellowship.
The flags will be removed on Tuesday, May 26, also at 10 a.m. Families, friends, and community members of all ages are invited to help.
