SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Blue Granite Climbing Team is proud to announce that, for the second year in a row, its competition team has qualified athletes for USAC Divisionals, which is just one step below the national championships.
This year, three athletes represented South Lake Tahoe at the Divisionals competition held in Salt Lake City, Utah: Gantt W. Miller V (M17), Gabriel Deluca (M15) and Wyatt Patton (M15).
The division in which Blue Granite competes is widely regarded as one of the strongest in the country, drawing approximately 200 elite athletes in each category from across Northern California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Despite being a smaller team, Blue Granite athletes consistently rise to the challenge, competing head-to-head with teams from much larger gyms with significantly greater resources.
The success of the season is also a testament to the leadership and commitment of the Blue Granite coaching staff, including Gena Bradshaw, Trevor Quinn, and led by Head Coach Will Fallat, whose training and mentorship have prepared athletes to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
“All three of our Blue Granite athletes delivered outstanding performances at Divisionals this year and we are already looking forward to what the team can accomplish next year! We are so proud of all of our team athletes, our incredible coaching staff, and our supportive team parents,” says gym owner, Gianna Aveni.

Congratulations to all our athletes and coaches on an incredible season. We can’t wait to see what next year brings!
