LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – The Tahoe Chamber celebrated members of the community on Thursday during its annual Blue Ribbon Awards. This year, businesses and community leaders were honored in an elegant lakeside ceremony at the Edgewood Tahoe Resort.
Community Enrichment Award – The Marchella Foundation. This award was sponsored by South Tahoe Refuse in recognition of a business, non-profit, or agency that has worked to improve the South Shore community.
Customer Service in Business Award – Carole Melzer of Barton Health. This award was sponsored by Vail Resorts and elevates an individual who has gone above and beyond to offer the highest quality customer service.
Innovation Award – ECO-CLEAN Solutions, the creator of the BEBOT beach-cleaning robot. This award was sponsored by the Idle Hour and raises up an innovative entrepreneur, non-profit, or business that has effected significant change in the community through a unique idea or the improvement upon one.
Excellence in Business – Fox & Hound Smokehouse Bar and Grill. This is given to a business that exemplifies excellence in managing their enterprise, has made substantial contributions to the overall good of business, and the economic well-being of the community. Sponsored by Harrah’s & Harvey’s, now Caesars Republic.
New Business of the Year Award – Bruschetta. This award was sponsored by Holiday Inn Vacation Club Ridge Tahoe Resort, which recognizes a new business that has gained an increasingly positive reputation and exhibits distinction.
Customer Service in a Public Agency Award – Devin Henderson of Clean Tahoe. Sponsored by SaaS e Solutions, the award goes to an individual who goes above and beyond to support the community, to effect change, and to benefit the overall quality of life in South Tahoe.
Sustainable Tourism Award – SunSnow Event Company. Sponsored by the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, it goes to a business or organization that serves visitors while benefiting the community through education, sustainability, environmental stewardship and local practices.
Volunteer of the Year Award – Roberta Strachan of Bread and Broth. This award spotlights individuals dedicated to making a positive impact on the agencies they serve and on the community at large. Sponsored by Creegan Builders.
