SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference officially launches its Outreach Program in South Lake Tahoe this month, creating new opportunities for local middle and high school students to serve their community, build leadership skills, and make a meaningful difference close to home.

The launch marks the beginning of Hands4Hope’s expansion into the South Lake Tahoe region in partnership with local schools, community organizations, and the Pay It Forward Project.

Beginning this spring and summer, youth participants will have opportunities to volunteer with local organizations through projects such as food distribution, clothing closet support, and community events.

Hands4Hope empowers youth through service-learning experiences that help them become compassionate, civic-minded leaders while developing valuable life and career skills. Since 2008, the nonprofit organization has helped young people discover their ability to create positive change in their communities through meaningful volunteer experiences and youth-led projects.

“Youth want opportunities to contribute and make a difference, and we are thrilled to bring those opportunities to South Lake Tahoe,” said Jennifer Bassett of Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference. “At the same time, these programs cannot happen without caring adults who are willing to step forward as mentors, volunteers, and leaders alongside our youth.”

As the Outreach Program launches, Hands4Hope is actively recruiting adult volunteers to help guide and support youth participants during service opportunities and events. Adult volunteers serve as mentors and program leads, helping ensure safe, meaningful, and well-organized experiences for youth volunteers.

Adults can choose involvement opportunities that fit their interests and availability, whether volunteering alongside their child at occasional events or serving in a more active mentorship role as an Adult Lead. They provide guidance during outreach activities and collaborate directly with youth participants as they learn leadership, teamwork, and project management skills.

To help community members learn more, Hands4Hope will host upcoming free online Adult Volunteer Information Meetings via Zoom:
