SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Visit the graves of some of the South Shore’s earliest residents during a guided tour of the Al Tahoe Pioneer Cemetery on Saturday, June 7 at 10 a.m.
Space is limited, and advanced reservations are required. Stop by the Lake Tahoe History Museum on Thursday or Friday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., or call 530.541.5458. If calling, leave your name and phone number, and a museum representative will call you. A $10 donation per person is recommended.
A partnership between the Lake Tahoe Historical Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the City of South Lake Tahoe, and representatives of the Al Tahoe neighborhood has been created to preserve the cemetery. They regularly meet to discuss preservation of the cemetery and to fundraise for missing grave markers and future signage along a pathway that will honor those whose final resting place is in the cemetery.
The Al Tahoe Pioneer Cemetery is located at 760 Alameda Avenue, South Lake Tahoe. The museum is located at 3058 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.
