SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe. The advisory is in effect until 11 p.m. Sunday.
Winds will be from the southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Waves on the lake will be 2 to 4 feet.
Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.
NWS Reno says showers are likely on Sunday with thunderstorms also possible after 11 a.m. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 62. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph in South Lake Tahoe. The chance of precipitation is 60%. The low Sunday night should be around 39 with winds 10-15 mph, becoming light after midnight.
