SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Tahoe Mountain Bike (MTB) Team is gearing up for its 2026 season, and local student-athletes are invited to join the fun! Serving riders entering 5th through 12th grades from both the California and Nevada sides of South Lake Tahoe, this inclusive team is all about building skills, confidence, and community on two wheels.
Fresh off our success as the 2025 Divisional Champions, the team operates under a powerful yet simple motto: “Ride bikes, have fun, do hard things.”
Whether your student is an experienced trail rider or brand new to the sport, all genders and mountain bike styles are welcome. The team prides itself on having no selections and no sidelines. Everyone trains and rides together in a supportive, ‘challenge by choice’ environment. While the team participates in the NICA Nevada North League, racing is completely optional. Riders can choose to test their skills in the 5-race series or simply hit the trails for fitness and fun.
The season runs from July through October, and all practices are led by trained, volunteer coaches dedicated to teaching safety, leadership, and lifelong friendships. League fees apply for participation.
