SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is canceling its scheduled DUI checkpoint on Monday, June 8, due to a chance of inclement weather in the forecast.
This is in accordance with the CHP policy and operation plan that states the following:
“The checkpoint will not operate during periods of dense fog, visibility less than 600 feet, nor during rain or snow.”
As a contingency plan, CHP personnel will be on a roving patrol with a focus on enforcing DUI laws during the same hours of the scheduled checkpoint, 8 p.m. Monday to 2 a.m. Tuesday.
