TRPA

The Tahoe Trail will be a continuous bicycle and walking path envisioned to circle the lake. With the work of many partners, several critical segments have been completed, but more sections are needed to connect it all.
Since 1997, Environmental Improvement Program partners have constructed or improved 198 miles of bicycle and pedestrian trails.
Check out some of the great Tahoe paths recently constructed or in the works:
Recently Completed:
El Dorado County completed the San Bernadino Class 1 shared-use path over the Upper Truckee River last fall. This trail now connects the North Upper Truckee neighborhood to Meyers Elementary School, making it easier for families to walk and bike to school.
Upcoming Maintenance:
The Tahoe City Public Utility District constructed 23 miles of trail from Tahoma to Dollar Point and along the Truckee River between 1973 and 2016. More than 210,000 year-round trail users enjoy these paths, which is why the District is now embarking on a multimillion-dollar rehabilitation project. This year they’re focusing on 2 miles of trail between Dollar Point and Lighthouse Cente
In the Works:
The Tahoe Transportation District and its partners are working to expand the popular East Shore Trail from Sand Harbor to Spooner Summit while tackling road safety and improving water quality through erosion-control enhancements. The next section will connect Thunderbird Cove to the Secret Harbor parking lot. Other sections of the trail will be built as funding becomes available.
Among the others completed:
South Tahoe Greenway Shared Use 1A
El Dorado Beach to Ski Run Blvd.
Sawmill 1B Bike Path
Tahoe East Shore Trail
