SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – “No Kings National Day of Defiance” rallies are being held across the country on the same day, and South Lake Tahoe will have its own. Organizers invite the public to join them on Saturday, June 14, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lakeview Commons, first by the water and then moving up to the corner.
There will be protestors joining on land, and on the water with kayaks, SUPs, or “whatever floats your spirit.”
Everyone is invited to gather near the water to hear heartfelt personal stories (for about 30 minutes). Organizers said this will be followed by “a joyful, powerful celebration of democracy as we line the streets with signs, building community and unity in opposition to the current administration. Let’s make waves—on the water and in our community!”

NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies. For more information on the movement, visit https://www.nokings.org/.
