8:00 p.m. UPDATE: The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) said their preliminary investigation indicates that a Honda utility vehicle was traveling westbound on
US-50 at a high rate of speed. The Honda was traveling too fast to safely negotiate a curve and struck a Volvo before running off the right shoulder of US-50. The Honda then overturned, ejecting two occupants.

An adult female was pronounced deceased by medical personnel while being transported to a local area hospital.

Four others from the Honda sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to a local area hospital. This includes two adult males, one juvenile male, and one adult female. The Volvo was occupied by a driver and a passenger, neither of whom sustained any injuries.

Impairment and speed are factors in this crash, according to NHP.
