SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif.. – This week ahead will be a nice sendoff to Spring and a big welcome to Summer when it arrives on Friday, June 20. As a trough moves through the Sierra on Monday, there will be periods of gusty winds and critical fire weather conditions in the Reno area. Winds return at the end to the week.

Typical June temperatures and dry weather will prevail through Tuesday, with a much warmer Wednesday and Thursday. The stronger winds at the end of the week bring a temperature drop on Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

Summer starts on June 20 and ends on September 22.

Sunny, with a high near 75. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning.
