UPDATE: The man arrested in South Lake Tahoe on Tuesday morning has been identified as Brandon James Brown. He was arrested on multiple charges, including Assault with a deadly weapon, Assault with a loaded firearm, Domestic Violence, False Imprisonment, Criminal Threats, Intimidating/Dissuading a Victim or Witness, Resisting/Obstructing/Delaying Arrest or Investigation. Brown is currently in the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe on a $313,000 bail hold.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) has a 37-year-old local man in custody after a domestic battery call on Tahoe Keys Blvd.
At 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, SLTPD responded to the call at the home of a man who has a history of domestic battery. The suspected locked himself in the home and the almost 8-hour standoff began. Multiple agencies responded with SLTPD including the California Highway Patrol, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office with their helicopter, Douglas County Sheriff K9 Unit, Cal Tahoe JPA medics and South Lake Tahoe Fire Department. El Dorado County Animal Control was on standby since there was at least one dog in the home.
After phone conversations, the SLTPD negotiator was able to convince the suspect to surrender just before 9:30 a.m.
