DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. –  All evacuation orders and warnings in Douglas County related to the Conner Fire have been lifted. It is now safe to reenter. The fire has burned  17,351 acres as of Saturday evening.

Firefighting operations are still ongoing, and emergency personnel and equipment may be present on roadways and in the area. Topaz Lake is closed to all public access to allow for uninterrupted aerial firefighting efforts in response to the fire. Almost 500 personnel are assigned to the fire. They experienced a 180-degree wind switch on Saturday. Heavy fuel loading with critical fuel moisture levels has kept this fire moving through tall grass, brush, and timber.

Please continue to exercise caution. This is still an active fire, and conditions may change and evacuations may again be necessary.
