SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The 0.6-mile Bijou Park bicycle and pedestrian trail is completed, and the City of South Lake Tahoe will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, June 23, at 4 p.m.
This new trail will connect the Al Tahoe Mobility Project with the Dennis T. Machida Memorial Greenway through Bijou Community Park. The new trail will improve access to neighborhoods, schools, public facilities, commercial areas, and recreational areas, making it safer and easier for residents and visitors to move throughout the community.
Funds for the $1.849 million trail come from the federal government, Measure S, TRPA air quality mitigation funds, and $300,000 from the City’s General Fund.
The ceremony will take place at Bijou Community Park, 1201 Al Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.
