Bread & Broth always welcomes new, first-time Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD) sponsors to participate in our Monday Meal dinners. Although Nichols Consulting Engineers (NCE) has been a long-time donor to Bread & Broth’s mission of easing hunger in the Lake Tahoe South Shore community, their AAD sponsorship on Monday, June 17 was their first experience participating in a Monday Meal.
Founded in 1990 and having office locations in Stateline, Reno, and Sacramento, NCE is a client-focused engineering, planning, environmental, and construction service. Obviously, NCE is also focused on helping support local community charitable organizations. Representing NCE were Dylan Karlowicz and Dave Rios who both are based at the Stateline office location and Kevin Senn who works in NCE’s Reno location.
In addition, Nora Jones, who is a NCE team member, has been volunteering as a Monday Meal Team Lead for over 20 years and coordinated NCE’s Adopt A Day sponsorship.
“Our team enjoyed seeing familiar faces from our community and appreciates the opportunity to give back,” shared Dave Rios as he took a break from serving the 112 dinner guests who enjoyed the evening’s meal of pork loin roast served with mashed potatoes, roasted cauliflower, and marinated mushroom salad.
The NCE AAD volunteer team members enjoyed the experience so much that the day after their sponsorship meal, they inquired about openings for future Adopt A Day sponsorships.
