SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – South Tahoe’s 13-15-year-old Babe Ruth youth baseball league capped another fun and exciting season of play on Sunday, June 21. Thank you to all the business sponsors, players, volunteer board members, coaches, and parents who made this season possible.
The Orioles were unstoppable again this year as they notched a perfect 15-0 record under coaches Albert Aquino, Joel Gomez, and Kyle Anton – making the Orioles champions for a second year in a row.
League Co-MVPs were brothers Donovan and Cayson Gomez; with Seamus Donahue and Max Vadnais sharing Cy Young best pitchers honors; and Emilio Della Ripa and Drew Aggers topping the league for the Silver Slugger batting awards. Golden Gloves for best fielders went to Stone Chavarri and Bodie Erwin while Hudson James and Rowan Galli earned Todd Fields Leadership Awards. Rookie of the year went to Jasper Hansen along with runner up Chase Anton. Shamus Waldron was recognized with the Michael Blank Hustle Award with Jackson Chen as honorable mention.

The South Tahoe 13-16 All-Star team will host Fallon and Sparks for the Nevada state Babe Ruth championship tournament at Todd Fields baseball complex at South Tahoe Middle School. Games start with South Tahoe vs. Fallon at 11:30 am on Friday, June 26. The tournament continues with games at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The winner of this tournament will go on to represent Nevada in the Pacific Southwest Regional tournament in July against teams from Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Utah.
Come cheer the local team onto victory. Admission is free and a snack shack will be open with hot dogs, nachos, and much more.
