Amy Friduss and her mother, Julie Lindsay, are the only two survivors of Saturday’s fatal boating accident on Lake Tahoe, a tragedy that took the lives of eight people, including Julie’s husband/Amy’s father, Steve.
Amy’s classmates from the class of 2003 in Honeoye, New York, have started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help their friend and her mother as they deal with the heartbreaking loss. The women are on the mend, but friends are helping them with the fund so they can deal with the unimaginable loss without worrying about money. These funds will support their living expenses while recovering, medical bills, funeral costs, and any transportation expenses accrued during this time.
“Steve “Zippy” Lindsay, Julie’s beloved husband, Amy’s favorite dad, and the unofficial mayor of Honeoye, was quick with a big smile, a hug and a joke for everyone and will be missed beyond measure for his huge heart and quick wit,” stated the GoFundMe page.
Julie’s best friends from childhood, Theresa Giullari and Jim Guck, and her siblings and family in California, also died on the board that flipped near D.L. Bliss State Park..

Note: There are several families affected by this tragedy, and Julie and Amy ask that a contribution to Jim and Theresa’s family be considered given the horrendous nature of this tragedy.
