SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The public can be treated to some quality baseball starting Monday when South Tahoe’s 14U All-Star team, managed by Albert Aquino, will host Fallon for the Nevada State Babe Ruth championship series at Todd Field at South Tahoe Middle School on Monday, June 30. It is a double header starting at 4:30 p.m. A third game (if necessary) will be on Tuesday, July 1. The winner of that series will go on to represent Nevada in the Pacific Southwest Regional tournament in July against teams from Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Utah.
Cheer the local team to victory. A snack shack will be open, serving hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, and more. Thanks to Raleys for their generous in-kind donations this year.
South Tahoe’s 13-15-year-old Babe Ruth baseball league ended a fun and exciting season on Sunday, June 22.
In the championship tournament, the previously undefeated Orioles, coached by Frank Abbondandolo and Joel Gomez, faced a tough Diamondback team, coached by Daren and Elijah Hammer. The Diamondbacks eked out a scrappy 9-8 win in the first game, only to fall in the second game, making the Orioles the 2025 league champions.
