SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The heat is on for the early part of the week. Plan on triple-digit high temperatures for the lower valley areas, with low to mid-90s for Sierra locations. Temperatures are running about 5 to 10 degrees above normal before we start to see some slight cooling on Tuesday, accompanied by a slight increase from the typical afternoon breezes. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno says to expect the rest of July to be mostly dry and on the hot side.
