DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – There is a fire burning on Leviathan Mine Road in eastern Gardnerville. The first calls were received at 6:50 p.m. and East Fork Fire called in neighboring agencies to assist, including Tahoe Douglas Fire.
The fire is slow burning and is currently estimated at 5-8 acres as of 9:15 p.m. Air support responded at 7:45 p.m. but they have ended for the evening.
At this time there has been no cause released but there were severe thunder and lightning storms in the area late this afternoon.
