SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – With the Valhalla Grand Lawn chosen to be the site of the 2025 Lake Tahoe Summit on Wednesday, August 6, the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit has announced some temporary closures.

During the event, access to the Valhalla area will be limited to registered attendees. In-person registration is now closed, but interested members of the public can still join the event via the livestream.

For public safety, a Forest Service closure order will be in effect in the Valhalla area beginning Wednesday morning and ending when the event concludes at 2 p.m. View the closure order.

The theme of this year’s event is “Protecting Lake Tahoe: Balancing Sustainable Recreation and Conservation.” The Summit will honor U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein’s legacy and commitment to protecting Lake Tahoe, and the Keynote Speaker is Tahoe Basin resident and Academy Award-nominated actor, Jeremy Renner.

On the day of the summit, on-site parking will be limited to those with parking permits. Please keep in mind that roadside parking will be limited. The Forest Service encourages the use of public event shuttles, car-pooling, walking or cycling. The Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition will provide a complimentary bike valet for those who choose to ride.

More information about the event can be found at 2025 Lake Tahoe Summit.

The closure will not affect Wednesday night’s concert in the Boathouse Theater.
