SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Move over sourdough and sushi—Tahoe’s latest culinary darling is sweet, smoky and satisfyingly messy!! The newly opened Corn Palace is turning heads and tantalizing taste buds with its singular obsession: corn on the cob.
What began as a desire to share with others this classic seasonal delight has quickly become a local sensation. With its whimsical name and corn-loving staff, the Corn Palace is more than just a farmers market booth; it’s a full-blown homage to the sweet, smoky, buttery glory of fresh grilled corn.
Founders and the self-proclaimed “Corn King and Queen”, longtime Tahoe residents Jill and Steve Rozier, along with their teenage daughter, Danielle, have turned their farmers market booth into a lively corn kingdom where buttery cobs, belly laughs and local pride reign supreme.
“We want to celebrate the joy of eating something simple, seasonal and messy,” Rozier laughs. “We’re building something golden here, and it’s not just the corn.”
Corn is communal. It’s summer. It’s childhood. And, it’s surprisingly versatile!
Signature offerings include buttered corn, street corn and Tahoe’s newest culinary creation of salted caramel corn on the cob.
You can find the Corn Palace holding court locally at the Meyers Mountain Market on Wednesdays and the Ski Run Farmers Market on Fridays through the summer, as well as various local seasonal festivals and events.
With its golden canopy, cheeky signage, and the unmistakable scent of charred corn drifting through the air, the booth is hard to miss—and even harder to resist. Whether you’re a die-hard street corn fan or just in it for the butter and nostalgia, the Royal Rozier family serves up more than just food – they dish out joy, one cob at a time.
