LAKE TAHOE, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) continues its project on US-50 at Lake Tahoe. This is the first season of construction on the stretch between Stateline and Spooner Summit. It goes until October 2025, depending on the weather.

NEW UPDATE/HOURS

  • Certain sections of the roadside guardrail will be replaced or upgraded to a concrete barrier to enhance safety.
  • Guardrail work is currently adjacent to sections along Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center toward Zephyr Cove Resort.
  • To maintain guardrail scheduling, crews anticipate nighttime work beginning Monday, Aug. 18, at 8 p.m.
  • Noise and decibel levels will constantly be monitored to maintain residential threshold levels under 67 (equivalent to the sound of a vacuum cleaner at a distance or a loud conversation).

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS:

  • ITS conduit, curb and gutter work will continue operations on Sundays at 8 p.m. through Fridays at noon.
  • No lane restrictions are expected on weekends.
  • A minimum of one lane in each direction will always stay open.
  • Drivers can anticipate moderate travel delays through the work zone.
  • Speeds will be reduced to 35 mph through work zones.
  • While access to businesses and residences will be continuously maintained in most areas, certain side streets and driveways will temporarily be impacted as roadway excavation takes place in the immediate area. Steel plates and earthwork will then be used after excavation to reestablish side street access.
