SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Optimist Club is thanking the community for making the Day in Paradise a big success. It was a wonderful day at Tahoe Paradise Park with great weather, local youth dancers from The Studio and Ballet Folklorico, live music by Ditchweed Harvest, a silent auction, kids’ games and the Duck Races.
The winners of the 21st annual Day In Paradise Duck Races were Lam and Winnie Nguyen of Meyers Family Dentistry. They said they are excited to serve the community and donated their $1,000 prize money to the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT). The Nguyens said BGCLT is a valuable asset to the youth and families of South Lake Tahoe.
Special thanks to Luca Genasci and Ale WorX for donating the adult beverages and to all the businesses that donated items to the silent auction. All money raised by the Optimist Club at the Duck Races and the Christmas Tree Lot goes directly back to the youth of our community. Last year, the Optimists gave out over $18,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors, donations to special teacher projects, school site needs, and other youth organizations, and their free Easter Egg Hunt and Fishing Derby.
Save the date for the next Day in Paradise on July 18, 2026.
