LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Lake Tahoe Triathlon takes place this weekend, and Caltrans is advising motorists of potential morning traffic impacts along State Route 89 (SR 89) due to the event scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Much of the event’s pre- and post-activities will be at Sugar Pine Point State Park, though traffic may be impacted from Camp Richardson to Tahoe City
Flaggers will be stationed at the following locations with rolling traffic breaks at various times along SR 89:
- Sugar Pine Point State Park lakeside entrance Saturday from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m.
- Between 2 Ring Road and 3 Ring Road, Saturday from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m.
- Sugar Pine Point State Park lakeside entrance Sunday from 6:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
- Ward Creek Sunday from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
- Sugar Pine Point State Park north entrance Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
- Baldwin Beach Road Sunday from 7 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
Motorists may encounter delays of up to 20 minutes at each location. Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions or other unexpected events.
