SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – From now until October 15, the League to Save Lake Tahoe is offering a 20 percent discount on Emerald Bay Shuttle rides for locals. The end of the pilot transportation project at the scenic and popular area ends at that time, and the shuttle will no longer be available until a permanent plan is in place.

Anyone wishing to take advantage of the discount should use “LOCAL20” when purchasing their tickets at emeraldbayshuttle.com.

With the summer season winding down, it is a great time to take advantage of the service. There has been an increase in enforcement action in the area since the new “no parking” signs were installed for the Emerald Bay parking program that began July 15, and the shuttle allows people to leave their cars behind.

To date, the California Highway Patrol has issued 371 violations to those parking illegally at Emerald Bay, with 15 vehicles being towed.
