LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – For the first time, anyone curious about what might be found beneath Lake Tahoe’s surface watched in real time as an ROV traveled all the way to the bottom of the lake floor.
If you missed it on Friday, the video is available now on tahoefund.org/deepdive. Tune in to see interviews with Lindsay Kopf, founder and executive director of Restoring the Lake Depths Foundation, who piloted the ROV to the bottom, and hear from Tim Crandle, president of SeaView Systems, about the innovative technology that made this journey possible.
Plus, enjoy a lesson in all things Tahoe from Sudeep Chandra, foundation professor of limnology at the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe, including why the Lake is so blue, why it is so deep, and what you can do to help take care of it.
