SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Come one, come all… teamsters, drovers and wayfarers to “Beyond the Toll Gate—History Revealed!”
After 167 years, the Lake Tahoe Historical Society will kick off the inaugural opening of the oldest standing commercial building in Lake Tahoe—Osgood’s Toll House.
Restoration is finally complete! They invite the public to join them on Saturday, October 10, as they lift the toll gate and share the history of the Osgood Toll House at the History Museum Complex, 3058 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe.
Originally built at the base of Echo Summit, “Nemi” Osgood collected tolls before raising his toll gate for the miners and travelers who passed his way along the Bonanza Road.
Save the date—Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This historic day of celebration will be fun for all! There will be games, displays, food, and tours.
