SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe Library has wrapped up our Summer Reading Challenge. We had 562 participants – a fantastic group of kids, teens, and adults! You all logged a total of 6,917 books and over 447,082 minutes of reading!
We couldn’t put on a Summer Reading Challenge of this magnitude without the support of our community. We would like to thank the South Tahoe Optimist Club for sponsoring our performances this summer – Wild Things, Magician Brian Scott, and Tsuronokai Taiko. Thank you to the Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe for their generous support of our teen summer reading prizes and for rolling out a hot dog feast for our kick-off party in June. Marcella Foundation came through again with Giants tickets – play ball! And we can’t leave out our Friends of the Library, who support everything we do with graciousness and enthusiasm. They sell 50-cent used books so we can offer amazing programs and library collections all year long. Talk about dedication!
On behalf of the South Lake Tahoe Library, I want to say thank you again to these organizations for supporting our library and the community that we serve. Keep reading Tahoe!
Sincerely,
Katharine Miller, Librarian Supervisor
South Lake Tahoe Library
