Would you like to become a citizen scientist and help report rain and snow from your home? Both the Nevada and California State Climate Offices and the National Weather Service (NWS) are recruiting volunteers to make precipitation observations, which will help fill critical gaps across the state as part of the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow (CoCoRaHS) Network.
Weather watchers across the country are helping to monitor local conditions, and more are needed in our area. It takes just five minutes a day to record rain and/or snow and submit findings.
In California, call Mike Anderson at 916.574.2830 or by email at Michael.L.Anderson@water.ca.gov.
For Nevada residents, more details can be found here: https://www.unr.edu/nevada-today/news/2025/cocorahs-seeking-volunteers
